BRU39 - 20011107 - BRUSSELS, BELGIUM: The crew of the SABENA's last flight cry, Wednesday 07 November 2001, at Brussels' National Airport in Zaventem, arriving from Cotonou, Benin. Sabena's board of directors agreed Tuesday to ask Brussels' commercial court to declare the Belgian national air carrier bankrupt, board chairman Fred Chaffart announced. Sabena would file for bankruptcy on Wednesday, Chaffart told a late-night press conference, after virtually all Sabena flights out of Brussels were suspended earlier Tuesday. Head office employees said they were told, in an e-mail from management earlier Tuesday, to finish up what they were doing, pack up their personal effects and leave for good.
